So I’ve been pretty bad at posting about my day everyday. College engineering courses have kept me busy… (or should be). I’ve been writing this paper for my Science and Technical Writing class and it’s definitely been keeping me busy. After working on it for 3 hours in my room, I felt a little chilly. It was in the mid 60 degrees outside at that time and since I live with 3 other people, I didn’t feel like touching the thermostat set at 72. Instead of grabbing a blanket (which would have been really annoying since I’m sitting up at my desk) or putting on a sweater like a normal person, I came up with my own heating system. Yeah it was damn loud and probably is a fire-hazard if not monitored, but it sure worked… pretty well. I thought about doing this a few times already since I blow dry my hair in my room and always notice how warm it gets in my 8x10 space. I’m also easily cold and my roommate likes it a little chilly so turning up the heat was not really an option (since I could always layer up… but hate doing so). I kept the setting on low to keep things a littler quieter but it still managed to overpower my studying playlist set at volume level 10 out of 100. So I think this is pretty genius if you’re a person like me, easily cold, hate layering, and has roommates who prefer it chilly. As long as you can get over the loud noise, this is the perfect solution!
Another problem I faced earlier was putting too much milk and water in my hot chocolate! As mentioned earlier, I was cold, so of course I would make myself a cup of hot chocolate. Having a low sense of measurement, and using a mug shaped as a pig (clearly the one on the left. I couldn’t really tell how much water to put in since the mug was oddly shaped. I had a bag of Ghirardelli Caramel-Filled Milk Chocolate Squares sitting on my desk and thought “Hey what if I put one in my chocolate-flavored water?” As a result, I had this awesome, rich, chocolatey hot cocoa that I was too excited to drink to take a picture of.
So in conclusion, if you ever accidentally make watered-down hot chocolate or just want it to be more rich and chocolatey and have some chocolate lying around, feel free to mix a few pieces into your drink! It works! I will probably never make hot chocolate the same way again!
So these were just a few tips for your average college dorm life problems (or what I think is average). Now back to that paper I was working on…
Edison day maybe lol. But I’m at Thomas Edison’s office! Cool place! Went to this fair with wills family.
